La Zebra Tulum, a Small Luxury Hotel

“Beautiful, smaller hotel. Quiet location, really great food and hosting Young families as well. Very friendly staff, welcoming, very relaxing. Very quiet at night no obnoxious music blasting like the rest of Tulum. Highly recommended for young families , elderly folks, retired folks and people wanting a low-key quiet, relaxing spot. Enjoyed every minute by the way the augua chili is amazing! FYI: there is a mandatory charge of $35 USD/Day at check in. It’s not well explained. Essentially use it daily or you loose it. Heads up!”

“I posting reviews to a different location/hotel and realised I had not reviewed La Zebra, an amazing place in Tulum we stayed in 2024 April/May with our sons (6 and 10 at that time). Splendid location, very relaxed atmosphere, we basically stayed 11 days in bare foot, just like everyone else there. Staff was extremely friendly and fast, the food and drinks are really good, they have a Chef supervising and organising different evening themes. It is a perfect mix for a relaxed vacation. Cozy, as it only has about 20-25 rooms. Fair prices, not so expensive. Highly recommended for the relaxed style, for people who love the pure beach/sand, while also looking for quality food and drinks. Good job, La Zebra!”

“Pure magic! We stayed for a week in February and it’s technically the off-season which meant fewer people, a wide-open beach, and perfect weather. Everything felt calm, spacious, and unhurried. We booked the Sea View Ground Floor Suite with Plunge Pool and it was gorgeous. The room had a king bed, two twin pullouts, a small dining table, and a bright, spa-like bathroom with 2 rain showers, dual sinks, and a separate toilet room. The private deck and plunge pool faced the ocean and beach with an unobstructed sunrise view. If we wanted it heated like a hot tub, we’d message the concierge on WhatsApp and they’d turn it on almost instantly. Service was thoughtful and seamless. Check-in was easy, communication was clear, and every night we received pastries and a thermos of tea in different flavors like lemongrass and hibiscus as a surprise treat. On arrival, the adults were welcomed with margaritas and our kids with pineapple juice. Housekeeping was meticulous, right down to straightening our shoes. Beach towels and cover ups were in the room and beachside food and drink service made it easy to spend all day by the ocean. The hotel is small (about 49 rooms) so the beach never felt crowded and there was always space to relax without competing for loungers. We were traveling with family (both of my brothers and their families), and the staff made a real effort to place rooms near each other, which made the experience even more special. Luxurious, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming. NOTES/TIPS: **Book early if you want a specific room type. We booked about five months out and availability was already limited. **They’re strict about room occupancy limits, especially for families. If you have more than 4 in your family, a second room is required. **If you don’t want to rent a car or get a taxi, the hotel can arrange round-trip airport transportation for $400 plus tip. **Checkout is at noon. Staff will check the room for any left-behind items and the front desk can hold your luggage if you want to stay and enjoy the property longer.”

“We just had a great stay at Le Zebra! We had been in Holbox on vacation and our flight got canceled due to weather and we couldn’t rebook until 5 days later, so last minute we decided to head to Tulum for a few days. I hadn’t been to Tulum in 10 years and remember eating at Le Zebra years ago, the reviews looked good, so I snagged a room. Ended up being our favorite room on our trip! We got a second floor room in the back, and I really really loved it. I’ve been looking at the beach for a week and a half, so being in what felt like a treehouse was wonderful. Both restaurants were great. They had a super comfortable bed to lay on at the beach and there were plenty available. Nice service there to enjoy food and drink while you relax. The BEST part was how kid friendly this place is. Many hotels in Tulum focus on yoga and wellness, which even with very chill kids, I would be worried they would disturb someone’s meditation. There went plenty of families at La Zebra, they had a cute little playground area and even a little mini golf spot on the roof. It was a wonderful stay and I will be forever grateful for the blizzard of 2026 that we had to stay longer in Mexico and ended up here!”
